An Angel In Disguise Of Human , Dr Adeeb Ul Hassan Rizvi

 

Dr Adeeb-ul-Hasan Rizvi, the renowned kidney specialist and the Director Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplant (SIUT). A prominent name, which is doing a phenomenal job when it comes to medical treatment and welfare of patients coming over to SIUT. He has the great will to cater his patients desires, His effort not only as a doctor but as an administrator and as a human being are highly commendable. He maintains that his greatest satisfaction is to see the smiles on the patients’ faces’. He emphasized over the need of improving shortcomings in the training of nurses. This can be possible by improving teaching curricula and the training standards.

An individual’s effort devoted to the service of humanity is one of the very first of thought that comes to mind when we talk about Dr. Adeeb Rizvi, a doctor by profession and a hardcore philanthropist. He has devoted his very existence in saving millions of lives through the establishment of SIUT. An institution, where one learns the acts of kindness, companionship, commitment and struggle to save those who cannot afford a proper treatment due to lack of funds.

Adeeb-ul-Hasan Rizvi, head of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation, is considered father of a bill in parliament to outlaw what he called Pakistan’s “big kidney bazaar”.

Transplant numbers: “We calculated roughly at least 2,000 kidneys are transplanted in the country every year – 500 legally and the rest illegally,” he said, putting last year’s trade at $12 million.

SIUT Started as an 8 bed unit in 1971 is now a 450 bedded facility, the largest health organization in Pakistan. This provides free and comprehensive services in urology, nephrology, transplantation and liver related diseases. A recognized centre of excellence in South East Asia by the name of ‘Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation’ (SIUT).

Most recently, Pakistan Government will nominate prominent surgeon Dr Adeeb ul Hasan Rizvi for Nobel peace prize in recognition for his meritorious services in the field of organ transplantation.
